Welcome to the Flotilla 7-1, District 13 Web Site

U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Longview Washington

Since its founding under Congressional Act in 1939, the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary has established a proud tradition of supporting the United States Coast Guard. The Coast Guard Auxiliary is comprised of volunteers dedicated to safe recreational boating on the inland waterways of the United States.

Auxiliarists undergo specialized training and become vital members of “Team Coast Guard” so they are able to assist and augment the United States Coast Guard in its non military, non law enforcement missions including:

    ·     Recreational boating education
    ·     Vessel safety examinations
    ·     Safety patrols
    ·     Search and rescue
    ·     Aids to navigation verification

Qualified Coast Guard Auxiliary members teach various classes to the public including:

    ·     Several basic boating safety classes (both sail and power)
    ·     Coastal navigation (basic and advanced)
    ·     Paddle craft safety
    ·     and many other boating related specialty courses

Contact our Flotilla today for the latest schedule of these classes.

Using their own specially equipped vessels, many Auxiliarists are actively involved in:

    ·     Marine safety patrols
    ·     Search and rescue missions
    ·     Environmental protection surveys

Coast Guard Auxiliarists also offer Vessel Safety Checks to boaters, at no charge, to determine that their boats are in compliance with State and Federal boating safety regulations.

Over the past 12 months, Coast Guard Auxiliarists have donated thousands of hours of their time to benefit the nation and the public in boating safety.

Additionally, the Coast Guard Auxiliary actively seeks out qualified young people for sponsorship and possible acceptance by the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.

If you are interested in joining this unique volunteer organization or one of the many educational services we offer, please contact one of the officers of Flotilla 71 or attend one of our monthly meetings.
